In this poem, William Wordsworth uses a phrase, "The child is father of the man".
Most writers use to say that this phrase means any child is the same as when he becomes a man. A man is purely a product of his childhood. A child develops the same habits as he grooms to a man.
However, I would say this phrase/proverb can be explained in two ways:
1. Every child has to be a father, or a father was also a child. The father has the experience of his childhood.
2. Comparison to any adult, a child is always very active, can understand things easily and knows more modern things/terms. For example, if we ask any child that what is Marshmallow? He will explain that it is an android software version...
On the other hand, an adult will simply respond that it is a sweet dish.
